What is the Nymphe Society?

The Nymphe Society was formed by the Senior and Junior Rates on the closure of HMS WILDFIRE in 1994. It is called the Nymphe Society as at the time there was already a Wildfire Association, the 'Nymphe' being a previous name of a Wildfire ship. Although originally formed by the Senior and Junior Rates, many Officers have also joined the society.

The society continues to meet at the new RNR Unit HMS PRESIDENT Medway Division by kind permission of the Officer in Charge.

Attendance at the meetings is sporadic but those who do attend have a chance to meet up with old friends from their Wildfire days. Current serving members of the RNR (also ex Wildfire) also take advantage of these social occasions. A raffle is usually held to raise funds for the Society. Other social functions include the occasional quiz night or Bar-b-cue where serving RNR, members of the Chatham Branch RNA and friends and families are welcome to attend.

Anyone who is interested in coming along to the meetings or would like to just keep in touch and come to the major reunions please contact Lesley Weston
